Institutional Policy Statement
This Institutional Policy Statement governs all research-related activities under Research at CCTC™, the official research and innovation platform of Consolatrix College of Toledo City, Inc. (CCTC). It establishes the foundational policies for ethical research conduct, data protection, intellectual property rights, and academic integrity. This policy ensures that research activities at CCTC comply with institutional guidelines, Philippine law, and international standards to maintain excellence, transparency, and accountability in research and scholarly work.
I. Official School Handbooks
All research activities and academic outputs at Research at CCTC™ are guided by the institutional policies found in the official handbooks of Consolatrix College of Toledo City, Inc.:
Official Handbook for Basic Education – Governs all activities related to research and academic development among students in elementary and high school levels, ensuring age-appropriate ethical practices and responsible inquiry.
Official Handbook for College – Serves as the governing document for college-level students conducting research, theses, or special projects. It outlines ethical standards, research protocols, and academic responsibilities.
Official Handbook for Teachers and Staff – Establishes professional conduct and responsibilities for all faculty, research advisors, and administrative staff engaged in supervising or participating in research activities, including publications and community-based initiatives.
All members of the academic community involved in Research at CCTC™ must be fully aware of and compliant with the relevant provisions within these handbooks.
II. Compliance with Philippine Laws
Research at CCTC™ upholds full compliance with all relevant laws of the Republic of the Philippines that relate to data governance, digital security, intellectual property, and academic research. These include, but are not limited to:
Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) – Ensures responsible collection, handling, and protection of personal and sensitive information in research.
Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175) – Prevents and penalizes unethical online behavior, data breaches, and misuse of digital research platforms.
Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA 8293) – Protects the rights of creators and inventors, covering copyrights, patents, and trademarks.
Policies on Theses, Research, and Dissertations – Enforces institutional standards for originality, anti-plagiarism, proper citation, and documentation of all academic work.
All research activities, including undergraduate theses, faculty research, community-based projects, and institutional studies, must adhere to these legal requirements. Violations are subject to administrative and legal sanctions.
